Dear Members,

There seems to be an increasing incidence across the wider community of discourtesy or disrespect towards others in the community – you only have to look at some behaviours directed towards our Ambos or Emergency Service responders, supermarket or retail workers. Unfortunately, such behaviour has also been seen at our Club recently, in a number of instances members who feel they need to express their views, have felt free to express their opinions with inappropriate language, either verbally or as keyboard warriors towards some Board and Sub Committee members and Golf Club staff, especially towards our General Manager.

There is a distinction between views that are expressed in a respectful and meaningful way, and opinions that are expressed in a belligerent and abusive manner.

The Club has a structure in place for members input that is to be used in a constructive manner and not as a means of abuse.

It should also be noted that the Board and the various sub Committee’s set Policy etc, and as such empower the General Manager to implement such policies, as well as exercise appropriate discretion in discharging his duties.

All employee’s, from the General Manager down, implement these decisions, and are entitled to be treated with respect and courtesy, and to enjoy the protection of the Board, as their employer, in the performance of their duties.

The Board has a zero tolerance to inappropriate behaviour and will act accordingly to address any indiscretions.
