Member behaviour / Golf Australia Member Protection Policy

Dear Members,

There seems to be an increasing incidence across the wider community of discourtesy or disrespect towards others in the community – you only have to look at some behaviours directed towards our Ambos or Emergency Service responders, supermarket or retail workers. Unfortunately, such behaviour has also been seen at our Club recently, in a number of instances members who feel they need to express their views, have felt free to express their opinions with inappropriate language, either verbally or as keyboard warriors towards some Board and Sub Committee members and Golf Club staff, especially towards our General Manager.

There is a distinction between views that are expressed in a respectful and meaningful way, and opinions that are expressed in a belligerent and abusive manner.

The Club has a structure in place for members input that is to be used in a constructive manner and not as a means of abuse.

It should also be noted that the Board and the various sub Committee’s set Policy etc, and as such empower the General Manager to implement such policies, as well as exercise appropriate discretion in discharging his duties.

All employee’s, from the General Manager down, implement these decisions, and are entitled to be treated with respect and courtesy, and to enjoy the protection of the Board, as their employer, in the performance of their duties.

The Board has a zero tolerance to inappropriate behaviour and will act accordingly to address any indiscretions.

Bendigo Bank Referral Program – $150,000 paid to the Club so far!

Bendigo Bank have been fantastic supporters of Mornington Golf Club over a number of years with their annual sponsorship, business banking support and more recently with the sponsorship of a number of members golf events including the hugely popular Hawaiian Day!

We have a really good relationship with them and our relationship has gone from strength to strength over the past few years through Club President Gary Millen who is the former Branch Manager at the Bendigo Bank in Mornington.   Gary retired from the Bendigo Bank in October 2024 but passed the torch on to the new Branch Manager, Dav Vlahovic who will be continuing the great relationship with Mornington Golf Club members.

Bendigo Bank Referral Scheme for Members

The Referral Scheme has provided some fantastic benefits to Mornington Golf Club and its Members with more than $145,000 having been paid to the Club as a result of members taking out loans with the Bendigo Bank.

These extra funds received from the Bendigo Bank have paid for, among other things, the wonderful new Bendigo Bank Outdoor Terrace that we are all enjoying. The Bendigo Bank referral program works as follows….

If a member takes out a home loan, home equity loan, personal loan or business loan or has a new business overdraft or a credit card facility with Bendigo Bank the Club will receive a payment which will amount to an agreed % of the loan amount. There will also be benefits available to members in the form of discount rates which will be negotiated at the time. Eg. Home Loan of $500k x 0.20% will generate $1000 for the club.

Bendigo Bank Commission Scheme

Bendigo bank is also offering the Club a commission on the balance of all deposit accounts held at the Bendigo Bank by Club members so if the total balance of all members account combined is over $5,000,000 they will pay a rate of commission of 0.25% per annum to the Club. So if you are considering changing your bank or are in the market for a home, business or personal loan why not talk to Dav Vlahovic at the Bendigo Bank.

If you have a bank account with Bendigo Bank you must email Dav and let him know to include it in the balance of accounts held.

If you have any questions regarding the Bendigo Bank Referral program or wish to discuss any Banking requirements please contact Dav Vlahovic  Davorin.Vlahovic@bendigoadelaide.com.au or call him on his mobile – 0413 858 746

Support your Club by supporting the Bendigo Bank.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO PERSONAL INFORMATION REGARDING MEMBERS LOANS OR ACCOUNTS IS PROVIDED TO THE CLUB

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Dear Member,

The Club has an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on site for staff and members to use in the event of an emergency.

The AED is located in the small restaurant kitchen and is easy to access for staff and members.  To access the AED you go through the kitchen door (pictured below) in the restaurant and it is located on a shelf on the left.

You can see from the photos that it is clearly marked and easy to find.

Lets hope we never have to use it.
